“55% of UK trade is with the EU”
“Lies, damned lies and statistics”.
a) The “55%” includes trans-shipments that never get past an EU dock side.
b) The “55%” includes ALL loss making trade. The UK loses more than £60 billion per year by trading with the EU. The UK has traded at a loss with the EU since 1972.
Would YOU run a business that costs YOU more money than it earns?
Somebody has got to pay for the trading losses. The UK has got pay for the trading losses by
i) Borrowing money to be paid back by UK citizens not yet born or
ii) By making a profit by trading with the rest of the world.
